Can anyone give me heron folklore, mythology, or other info on this bird as a totem animal?

Birds Sanctuary in Kerala

You can see a variety of beautiful exotic birds at the bird's sanctuaries of Kerala. Birds Kerala excellent moist deciduous teak forests and marshes of bamboo and other grasses have dominated the most favorable environment for aerial population in India. These forests are also said among the most forested belts in the Indian peninsula, housing some of the most sought-after homes of migratory birds in Kerala. Kerala birds

The Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary (also commonly known as Thattekad Sanctuary) is in the Kothamangalam Taluk of Ernakulam district on the northern bank of the river Periyar. The sanctuary was in 1983 the basis of a recommendation made by Dr. Salim Ali many years previously notified. Ali described the 1930s as the richest bird life in peninsular India, comparable only with the Eastern Himalayas Thattekad. The reserve has a variety of migratory and resident birds, including rare frogmouth Ceylon and the rose-billed roller.

The Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary is located 12km from Kottayam adjacent Vembanad Lake and spread over 14 acres of land. This famous sanctuary for migratory birds as a Darters haunt, egrets, herons, teal, waterfowl, including cuckoos and wild ducks. You can even view one of the Siberian storks which migrate to this place almost every Year.

The Kumarakom bird sanctuary, a paradise for bird watchers, is a popular meeting place of migratory birds like the Siberian stork, egret, darter, heron and Teal. Other common varieties like the woodpecker can, skylark, crane, water hen and parrots are also observed here. A boat ride on Lake Vembabad is the best way to experience the sanctuary. Pathiramanal, an enchanting island in the lake can be accessed by boat from here.

The Birds of Kumarakom Sanctuary

The sanctuary is home to most species of birds. Some of them live and live here permanently, while other bird species here walking in the distance are the continents.
