Insights into Interior Design: Design with style. Part V: Modern / Contemporary
Interior design has always been influenced by fashion trends - both historically and in modern days. In this article series, "Designing in Style," I discover the importance of style for interior designers. I am on my experience of working alongside many of London's most famous interior design team. The fifth and last article in my Series moves to the Land Styles Modern / Contemporary - A major focus of the London Interior Design Community today.
Modern and contemporary design is all about simplicity. Interior designers tend to focus on fresh, clean lines, along with the colors and simple forms like circles and rectangles perfect. But the question I hear again and again by my interior design students in London, "How can a contemporary / modern design interesting and unique? "This can be a real challenge - Interior Designers always want their customers something special, but within the limits of very simple, almost minimalist, design briefs, this can be some serious creativity!
My advice to interior design students is always an additional fantasy in the details. Concentrated in London, more affluent homeowners to very subtle extras. To the interest in the standard Modern / Contemporary scheme is the interior designer highlights Decorative trim or accents to examine the color. Even if one would look only a black and white palette to work with, perhaps a white piece of furniture anesthesia throw a beautiful tailored black. Or perhaps a touch of pink can be introduced in a gray tone to a truly "interior designer" seek to create a room? There are all sorts of possibilities, and observed in most districts today, the prestigious London's most important for interior designers is that the label the "Modern Contemporary /" is just a guideline. If the customer has a favorite piece of furniture or artwork that does not fit the "modern / Contemporary "label, use the interior design creativity to figure out ways to incorporate them into a grid. You can not really go wrong go, if your "Modern / Contemporary" design is consistent and classy - and in London, many customers are very demanding, with an eye for beauty and detail. If their needs are met, the interior designer has made her job!
