Wild Animal
Wild Animal
I want to start my own wild animal rescue. How would I do it???
I have so many injured wild animals in my town, its insane!!! I want to help all of them.I have everything it takes. But how could I do this???
Depends on the state, but I believe most are similar to mine (Wisconsin)
You need to first apprenticeship under another rehab place for 2-3 years for experience. Then there is a federal test you need to take.
You do not need a degree of any sort....just a rich husband to pay for your very expensive hobby.
Next, you need to find a vet that will take care of your animals, and you need to build housing that meets the requirements. Then you get a liscense and your property gets checked every 1-2 years to make sure it is up to code.
Then you are allowed to raise rehabilitated animals.
A note though: all rehab places in my state will NOT rehab deer, raccoons, opossums, or foxes- and it is a state law here because of overpopulation and the possibility of spreading diseases. Plus deer are extremely hard to rehab- they stress out and die very easily.

Crop damage by wildlife Global View Country Report and Reviews in 1-10 Sections
Kerala Survey
Crop damage by wild animals in Kerala, India, was studied from 1993 to 1996. Data were provided from the offices of the Kerala Forest Department, field survey and from the intensive study area Marayur, Idukki District collected. Forty-five species of crops were destroyed by wild animals in Kerala, mostly destroyed in the manner of wild animals were paddy, coconut plam, bananas, cassava, Arecanut, coffee, oil plam, pepper, jack tree, mulberry and Manago.
The main animals involved in crop damage were elephant (Elephas maximus), Gaur (Bos gaurus), sambar (Cervus unicolor), Wild Boar (Sus scrofa), bonnet macaques (Macaca radiate), common langur (Presbytis entellus), blacknaped hare (Lepus nigricollis), and pea fowl (Pavo cristatus). Among these, elephants and wild board gave maximum damage. Of the total compensation demanded by farmers, was only 8.2% of the Kerala Forest Department sanctioned.
The highest recorded harvest losses (30%) of the forest extends to the Northern Circle: Pineapple (47%), sweet potato (47%), tapioca (42%), Alocasia (39%), beans (25%) and bananas (23%) recorded the highest percentage of damage. In the intensive study area at Marayur, 28 species of plants were damaged and damage was highest in the summer months. At the maximum damage was by elephants (72%) of Gaur (62%), followed, sambar (17%) and wild boar (16%). Tiger (Panthera tigris), Panther (Leopard) (Panthera pardus) and wild dog (Conine alpinus) Cattle were the most important athlete in the state.
A total of 31 deaths and 64 injuries were caused by wild animals were from the state budget for the period 1983 recorded until 1993. Thirteen indigenous methods for controlling crop damage had been identified. High-voltage electric fence energizer with was to stop elephants and other Herbivores from agriculture into the fields in place. Crop damage is found to be linked to the cropping pattern and location of agriculture fields. Late and long-term measures necessary to protect the crop damage discussed (Jayson EA, preventing 1999).
If you have ever taken a really good look at the face of a raccoon, you may have discovered just how gosh darn adorable they really are. Despite all the mischief they get themselves into (usually at the expense of your property), they are another one of those endearing wild animals you sometimes can't resist feeding when you see then in your garden. If you or your child has a soft toy collection full of wildlife plush, at the very least, it should also include a raccoon stuffed animal or two.
Raccoons are best know for their signature black-Face Mask. They develop these distinct face markings about 10 days after they are born, usually before their eyes open. All that a raccoon needs to survive is water, food and some kind of protected area in which they can den. They are highly adaptable animals and can live anywhere from forests to urban cities. In both the northern United States and southern Canada, raccoons breed during late winter and early spring.
They grow and fatten up during the summer and fall and then they den in the winter. While they conserve as much energy as possible in the winter months, they do not hibernate. They like to den in hollow trees, logs, stumps, caves, vacant fox or groundhog burrows and barns. In the city, they will make their den in chimneys, sewers, garages, attics, and trees. Adult males den alone but usually during the their first winter, an entire family will den together. A many as 23 raccoons occupying communal dens has been previously reported.
There are six species of raccoon which can be found in North, Central, and South America as well as on some Caribbean islands. Only the common raccoon (called Procyon Iotor), however, is found in parts of the U.S., all provinces of Canada except Newfoundland and Labrador, and Central America. In the 1930's, raccoons were successfully introduced in Germany and the Soviet Union and as a result, today, they have expanded into Luxembourg, the Netherlands, France, and West Germany.
Even though raccoons look cute and cuddly (reports say that it is one of the few wild animals that can go from being a family pet to living back in the wild), don't be fooled by their exterior. They are very opportunistic eaters and are known to be a menace to farmers given they will devour their domestic fowl and eggs. In addition, city dwelling raccoons tear up gardens and raid garbage bins, just to name a few of the nuisances they are responsible for.
If you are planning on adding to that plush wildlife collection sometime soon, you already know that a raccoon stuffed animal will have to find a home there. At the very least, with a raccoon stuffed animal, you will never have to worry about evacuating it from an attic or having to replace your garden every time it decides to destroy it. You can go on to enjoy your raccoon stuffed animal and all of its adorableness without any of the expense or fuss.
